Hey Guys, I've got one question. Ok well, I know I want to be a SEAL, and I'll do anything to be one, I've been training for about a year now, but there's only one problem. I'm a Canadian, and I know I have to be a U.S. citizen, but i've also been told that they might make an acception. So I was wondering which one it is, and if I have to be a U.S. citizen awesome, but how exactly do I get it, and how long does it take? So if anyone knows forsure please help.

You have to be a citizen because of the security clearance reasons. For info on becoming a citizen go to this site: http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm

*note: I found this info on this site. go here: http://www.navyseals.com/community/recruit/civilian.cfm

In order to become a SEAL, an officer, or anything else in the military that requires citizenship, you must be naturalized and become a citizen. Based on the info I have read, one of the easier and faster ways to do it is through the military.

First thing you need is a immigration Visa so you can move to the US and work, once there, you need to become naturalized, in order to do that you must lived in the US for 5 years, or you can enlist in the military and serve on active duty for 3 years. If you are in the miliary and are NOT a citizen, only certian jobs are open to you.

I couldn't find any for the Army or Air Force on the site, but I'm sure if you look you can find it.

Now, once you've been in the military for 3 years you can apply for naturalization, when that is done you are an American citizen and can appy for any job that requires citizenship.

This is just a summery, check out these websites or go to an American embassy and for more infomation.
