This does not really have anything to do with BUD/S prep but I would like to ask it any how. First of all my lifes goal is to attend and complete BUD/S and move on to be a SEAL. But a hobby of mine is computers. Don't get me wrong I like to work out and just plain old work. On the other hand I like to program. Now a lot of kids my age (17-18) see this as a conflict of interest. You know it, "all you know is computers, how would you ever become a SEAL." Now I know I already want to try to go to BUD/S and not even my father has been able to sway me from the goal. I am currently talking to the recruiter frequently and doing Lt. Stew Smith's 12 weeks to BUD/S work out. I was just wondering if I could get an opinion from a SEAL. Thank you very much, and as always and answer is greatly appreciated.

A good percentage of the guys that complete BUD/S are skinny and scrawny, though it sounds like you have the in-shape area covered. Just don't program so much you become out of shape and not used to work... but other than that, I don't see why your affinity for computers would slow you down (unless you're addicted to them).

I like toying with computers, Taking them apart upgrading them, etc. Its just a stereoytype to thing electronics-savy people are out of shape. Also, I remember I was watching this News thing on this cooking class some place up North and the teacher had 3-4 Navy SEALS's there! now let'um gripe about that stereotype!
