Before women worry about being SEALs they need to think about getting into regular infantry front lines.

The rule is there for a reason L43. It is not stupid. Find out more about being a SEAL and you will see that 70% of the men on ACTIVE DUTY in our militray do not qualify to APPLY for SEAL training and of those that do only one out of 5 make it.
I will say this, I do belive there ARE women who COULD perform at SEAL level, but on average of ACTIVE DUTY FIT women that number would be ONE out of every 2500 women in the military. Good luck finding them. P.S. Women as SEALs are a non-starter. Most SEALs are reported to have said they will never go on a mission with a woman team member.
P.P.S. Fair? You dont have the agressive mind set required to be a warrior.(no worries tho) You are either a Protector(warrior/ess) or the Protected(home/family) Good luck in life and God bless.

It's not even up to us. Congress forbids women SEALs under the Ground Combat Exclusion Law. If you have a heartburn with it, please feel free to write your local congressman.

True. Women can not be SEALs, but women CAN join EOD. It's definately not SEALs, but you may want to look into that if you are interested...

L43, darlin', and I mean this in the most respectful manner, PLEASE go read through the forum entitled "Women in the Military" on this site before posting any further potentially inflammatory statements. It isn't just a congressional issue, but also a gender related function issue. I hope I needn't explain further as it involves functions that some might find bothersome. In my day, I would have been happy as a clam either flying the A-6's, P-3' s or in EOD. I wasn't offered those options because women weren't permitted in those units then. I opted to work as a civilian instead.

Hey L43,
Don't lose hope if that's what you wanna do. It just so happens that delta force has experimented using women on missions, under a husband and wife scenario. I'm not real sure of the outcome, but if you need details...
