When older boats are replaced with newer ones do they auction off the older ones or scrap them? I'm on the market for a boat, 24-34ft, perhaps larger if I can get a good deal. I would love to own a surplus boat that was used by the teams as a project to put some work into to get it back in great shape. If they do hold auctions where are they? The Air Force base near me holds them annualy and auctions off military trucks etc.. So I'm curious about Navy boats. It's a shame they left so many behind in Vietnam.
