I was just wondering what the differance is between running with just running shoes and shorts and running with army pants and combat boots? You know what make's it that mutcht harder though i do not now I never went running in combats and army pants.

The biggest difference is the boots. They are heavier than the sneakers. Once you get used to it its no big deal, but when you first start out, your feet feel heavier and it makes your run slower than if you were wearing sneakers...

why do they actual wear boots in the military why not just shoes?

Well when I wore boots when i went paintballing i didnt get any dirt or plant or any small rocks n there and that helped alot. I also tripped and my ankle got somewhat twisted and the boot was tuff enough to help support it a little bit and lessen the pain. I know its lame that it was paintball, but I'm just saying this from my own experience

Safety and durability, as well as over all functionality. Bare foot is ok in some situations as well as tennis shoes. But for the application of foot wear for war, the boot in my opinion, is superior to all other forms of foot wear in most situations.
