I read in the hooch that you met James "Patches" Watson and D ick Marcinko last year at the UDT/SEAL function- I have probably read "Point Man" 15 times in my life, and I still think it is awesome because it is so honest. Anyways, in light of all that- I just wanted to say that all of you Vietnam guys kick ***, and not many of my peers in this generation have any grasp of what that place was like... but there are some of us who appreciate everything you crazy dudes did, and what you stand for. Just thought I'd throw that out there... leaving now...

Joker,

I really appreciate the compliment.

I just wanted to say that all of you Vietnam guys kick ***,

Yes we did. Guess some of us still do.

not many of my peers in this generation have any grasp of what that place was like...

Don't feel bad, most of our peers don't have a clue.

but there are some of us who appreciate everything you crazy dudes did, and what you stand for.

Well, I wasn't too crazy. It was those supergrunts that were a little over the edge.LOL Supergrunts=SEAL, LRRP, SF, and some CIA types.

Aw jeez, guys, I'm getting embarrassed. There are some people here that desrerve this thread more than me. I was assuming it was a general compliment for V V's with me, for some reason, as a focal point. Guys like Pup, WW, Travelor dude, and many others here that did multiple tours there should be getting all the kudo's. They were the crazy ones,LOL not me. Once I set my feet back on the good ol' USA, I didn't leave again for almost 15 years. BTW, "Crazy" to me means a great compliment.

Rock,

You are only 36 or so, why I remember when I was 35 or so ...................blah...............blah.ROTF. BTW, isn't the Commadant's Ball coming up soon, around 11-10 or so isn't it? About 228 years? I always tip a few for my fallen and injured USMC brothers.

Sempr Fi, do or die, bro.

A62, What kind of Artillery pieces did you use way back then? 12 pounders? 16 pounders? Did you get to use the Dahlgren guns? :)
