I'm new to posting, and I try to avoid it as much as possible, but I have one question that has been bothering me recently; I hope a BTDT could help me out. The basic premise of the question is this: do certain personality types tend to migrate to different branches and SOF within each branch? I intend to enlist, so I have my own personal reasons for volunteering, e.g. patriotism, a sense of duty, a rite of passage, etc. But I'm curious what makes the normal soldier, sailor, marine, airman want to step up and try something so elite? And are there specific traits that would fit a Navy SEAL better than ARMY SF or Rangers, and vice versa? I guess basically my question is that they are all SOF, but do different types of people fit better in different units, or are they all interchangeable?
