I was wondering in BUD/S and after also in SWCC school and after are you allowed to take prescription pain killers. I am not taking any now. But just curious.

I may be wrong on this but wouldnt pain killers numb certain parts of your body..? Now.. how would that be useful out in the field training? They probably give you a 900 mg Ibprofun :) I have 600 mg ones and they work good. And i've also heard that while in basic and ait that you have to get medication prescribed by the doctors on base.. is this true?
Peace ouT!

In The Wartior Elite a few of the guys were getting Motrin or somthing like that. But only if they really needed it. Sorry thats all I know.

Dude, Everyone in BUD/S is in pain. I heard Motrin can be taken. I doubt any prescription Pain Killers will be given out. When you get to the Grinder, ask if you can be prescribed a pain killer.

I think a major part of BUD/S is hurting and being in pain and seeing if you can get through that mental barrier without painkillers. Correct me if I am wrong!!!

you are prob right, but what if you are in pain before BUD/s? Like say a bad back, but not bad enough not to go through BUD/s. LIke maybe some severe spasms now and then. Some people are in pain before BUD/s and they tough it out. Even when they train maybe they tough it out. So really they would be in twice as much pain as the regular person. How often will a SEAL actually go through continuous hell as in BUD/s? They will go through hell, but it will not be everyday like in BUD/s. SO maybe the person thats going through twice as much pain could get alittle help so maybe they are going through like 1 1/2 more times pain then the reg person. Just an opinion.
My son went through with a major knee problem. Somedays it would be the size of a soccor ball. He took IB. No Rx painkillers were available to him. He could ring out or accept a rollback, or tough it out.
