I come from Iceland and I was just wondering if there is any possible way for a foreigner to try out for Ranger training or any SF training ? Been thinking about it a lot cuz im joining the Army soon after christmas (hopefully) and the main reason for that is to become a Ranger.
Thanks a lot to all of the people who have posted here, I have learned so many things by reading it.

You are not allowed to attend RIP as a foreginer.
RANGER SCHOOL however have been known to take on some non US sits acording to crosstraining agreements with other nations.
For service in any US SOF you have to be a US citizen . (There have been rumors about secondments from other nations SF, but I have no reliable info on what countries is involved, ie: Iceland in this case.)

RIP is short for Ranger Indoctrination Program.
Here's a site about citizenship. I don't know if it applies to everyone though.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A U.S. CITIZEN AFTER FILING MY APPLICATION?
That depends upon where you reside. In areas with heavy immigrant populations, it is not unusual to wait two years or more to be naturalized. The INS claims to be working toward reducing the processing time for naturalization.

Good info on the INS page.
