... Do not do it on a door... what are you friggin CRAZY?! When you work out you want to be as safe as possible... not to sound like a stikler but a swinging door doesnt sound to safe. Plus... you can really mess up the door. My advice to you is to find a crossbeam in your house, garage or shed. But an even better thought comes to mind. Go to your local high school and im sure they have a pull-up bar you can use. Seriously man, Safety first when it comes to working out, you dont wanna hurt yourself before you even go to BUD/S.

Ever heard of a door? Still do quite a few on mine.

Please find some other way to do the Pull Up. I wouldnt wanna see you hurt yourself.

Peace ouT!

::EDIT::Sealpup this post wasnt to discredit you man. as I see you've done 3 tours with SEAL team 1. Your the man in my eyes.... just dont want someone to break a door... or something else. Sorry if you take the post the wrong way.

Corey out!

****the door. This guy don't have a solid door? Make one! Or better yet get a bar and learn some construction.

Sorry if you take the post the wrong way.

Not at all. I was gonna tell him to use a tree limb. But there is a chance he could get hurt.

Im guilty of that... when ever I find a nice sturdy tree limb I just start to do pullups... or if I can find a set of monkey bars ... anthing parralel to the ground and securly put into the ground makes for a good pullup bar.
Peace ouT!

just go buy one for like 20...keep in mind that pullups are the most commonly failed part of the PRT

I bought one for 20 bucks screwed the bracket into the door and did 8 or so every time i walked under it. Helped a lot. You can get one at walmart or a descent sporting good store - but make sure you screw in the brackets the ones that use pressure wont hold you. Try the Stew Smith pullup pyramid if your having trouble. Not to be an *** but they dont feel sorry for you at the PT screening if you fail any part of it, you fail. Not to worry though, anybody can get good at them it just takes time, and a lot of repetition. Also, no you wont do a whole lot of them at boot, but if you get good at them before you go you'll be fine. Just don't expect to improve at boot.

Back to the original question, NO, you will not do 1 pullup in Navy bootcamp unless you take the BUD/s screen test.

Maybe this is true?. Anyways, my recuiter told me that when you are in Navy boot Camp, the day you arrive there. They ask for the people that want to be in the Seals, or are registered under the seals contract. they seperate them from the rest of the group. The Wanna-be-seals group willl then be trained by a completely different staff, mostly made up of Seals. This is what my recuirter told me. Can anyone verify this?

Definately not heard this and HIGHLY doubt it is true. They do ask who has the SEALs challenge or who wants to try out for BUD\S and every morning you have the chance to pass the test while everyone else is still sleeping then you will go through the rest of the day with everone else. and if you have the contract you have to do it til you pass it or until boot camp is over.

Your recruiter was just doing what recruiters do best... lying. That is absolutely 100% false. I think it was about on week 3 of training they take everyone into a classroom and show some really kick *** movies about the SEALs, SWCC, Diver, and EOD. The people who are interested in the Special Programs sign up. The next day they report to the mandatory dive motivator where you take the screen test. If you pass, you are given a contract (if you dont already have one) and told to come to SEAL PT as often as possible at 0600. IF you fail the first time you get 2 more chances to pass on dates later on in training. I think its like 4-1 and 6-1 DOT (day of training). PT only last until about 0800 and you rejoin your division. You are not away from your regular division that often.

Background info: graduated bootcamp August 15... was not contracted prior to arriving at bootcamp, took the test there, and now im about to graduate from A school and have orders to BUD/s class 250.
