I have been running a lot lately and I am always getting these nasty blisters on the backs of my feet. I have been running in regular New Balance running shoes with socks. I get these blisters and I have to take it lightly for a week or so until they heal or they just keep getting bigger and bigger. Does anybody have any advice on what I can do to prevent this. Thanks

I used to have the same problem when I was playing baseball/soccer/football at around the same time haha. It was the cleats or in your situation the shoes rubbing the heel of your foot. I have a couple of rememdies.
1. Get new shoes 1 size larger to stop the rubbing against the heel, thus resulting in no blisters. I know poeple tell you get the "Perfect Fit" for a running shoe, but... not so perfect it hurts to run in them lol.
2. Thicker Socks, this works well creating a cushion for your feet all around, I find I can run longer distances with this little bit of extra padding. But theres a trade off.... Thicker = Warmer and Warmer = more sweat sooo you run a better chance of gettin athletes foot or... basically just smelly feet haha.
3. ok this one might hurt a lil bit but let that blister heal a little bit and then run, it might hurt to run with it... but when it turns into a callus (sp?) you wont have any more pain. But that may take a while of pain and no gain.
4. Ok this is the kicker in my opinion.... its basically kid tested mom approved, you ready for this...? LOL BANDAIDS! thats right.. before you go running stick a band-aid on your heel where the blister is, and Voila! no more pain. so in this order, Band-aid with neosporin, Sock, then running shoe. And you'll be all set my man. Just keep on truckin and dont give up!! G'luck on your running and hope these remedies help you out!
Peace ouT!

Same prob here too, had a blister under an already popped blister last week. O, always extensively test new cleats before wearing in a game. First lacrosse game in summer league this summer, by the end of the game the skin on both my heels was gon, socks covered in blood.
