For the 500yard swim portion of the SEAL PFT, are you allowed to switch off between sidestroke and breaststroke during the swim, or can you only choose one for the entire swim? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can switch off between the 2 strokes if you want to, but side stroke is a much better choice as that is what you will be using in BUD/S.

Yes you may switch strokes on the swim, some of my buddies switch during the PFT.
If your wondering I am in IT A School, and going to be dive mo'ing until Class 251 indoc in April.

If you can't do a measly little 500 yrds, then you deserve to check into "THE DAVY JONES" hurt locker.
