i read on a magazine saying a guy that was a Ranger and Special Force crossed over to the Air Force Spec Ops because Air Force units were more diversified. What does that acutally mean?

Not a clue...but try and understand that "diversified" is an opinion. And the media LOVES to be opinionated...

What was he going to do in the AF Special Ops? CCT or something? I am biased but who could be more diversified than SF? What was the basis for that kind of thinking?

I don't see why they can't be sent to the air force. The australian army milliers are regularly posted to destroyers and frigates to provide ani-aircraft defence with sholder fired ani aircraft missiles. and royal artilary gets regularly sent on ships aswell since we are the only western millitary still practice naval gun fire support.
