First of all I would just like to thank in advance anybody who has taken the time to respond, and to apologize if I misspell anything. Any how onto my Q. im a 17 year old in my senior year of H. S. and im 95% sure i want to enlist in one of the services. Ive done a lot of research so i think i know the operational differences between the SEALs the Rangers and Special Forces but one thing ive been unable to acertaine is the difference in the cultures between the perviously stated 3 (if there is any). From what i understand Rangers tend to be younger than the Special Forces and i have no idea how the mentality of he SEALs compares to the others. OK well id like to thank you once more for your time any info would be much appreciated.
P.S. I posted this on all 3 of the forms becasue it pertains to all 3 forces please tell me if this is bad ediquet.

I think it bothers the mods when you do that posting in all the forums thing. It might be better in the future to stick with just one.
Could you explain what you mean by culture? I'm not in the service but know people who are. I do knwo a little something about SF life.

i guess im asking this becasue ive read both Tom Clancys an guied tour "Special Forces" and Black Hawk Down. Black hawk down paints a picter of the Rangers being very young and hightly motivated if somewhat over confent of there ablitys. Tom Clancys book paints a picter of the typical speacial forces guy as beeing very quite and reserved i have no idea how many times he used the phrases "quite professionals" in it. THat image seems to contrasty sharpy with the typial Navy SEAL portrayed in Richard Marchinko's (sp) books. so i was jsut wondering weather these images are acuert. thanks~

I know nothing about the US marines and the air force. These are generalisation of course. and say a prayer for me before the lynching mob arrives.
You have no idea of what you speak of on any branches of the American Military. Dont give out information about anything you havent experienced yourself. If you were not in one of the services mentioned then do not answer. Frankly your answers a very ignorant and dont believe everything you read in books.Clear?

Very well said bro !
S354026,
I see USSFPA has already issued a warning to you, Here is one from me and it WILL be your final one
I know nothing about the US marines and the air force
That statement right there was your cue that you had absolutely no business in responding to the question. For that reason I am deleteing your response.
I am so going to get flamed for this. And A62 will try to shoot me in the head if he can . And everyone else will just lynch me. And the mods will just kick me off.
Ok with this statement you might as well have just said " Yes I am aware of the forum rules here,I don’t really care, I feel like deliberately instigating a problem."
Again, this is your last warning, should you choose to ignore forum rules again, you will be removed from here.

Wait a second - I know they learn those skills and practise them all the time. That's what those one things are for. Those Pugi sticks, punji sticks poptheotherguy sticks...Those one sticks they fight with that have the padded ends? I've seen those things and know they could leave a really good welt if you got hit with one. Marines might not crush windpipes or break legs in training but if they were using them against somebody they didn't like...
