Jon:
I think you are looking at this all wrong. The SEALs that I know persoanly are very bright guys. Wetwash gave a response with some numbers dealing with the education levels of SEALs, some have college degrees, alot of associates degrees or better. You are 14 years old, you should be thinking about being a good student and trying your hardest in getting good grades. I see alot of guys your age who think that they want to leave right after Highschool. I see some pros but alot of cons with this type of mindset. One pro is that with a young body your recovery rate is much faster, your body tends to heal quicker, on the flip side, a 17/18 year old kid who lives with mommy and daddy and has a great comfortable life wants to leave and go for the hardest military training in the world, huge difference in enviornments. Let me say, its not a impossiable task at all, one of my buddies is in the same Team at the guy that was on Discovery's BUD/S special with class 234 who graduated BUD/S at 17, so it is do-able, I know I rambled here, but have a good attitude and finish everything you start.

Jon,
The best thing you can do for yourself, and I mean right now,is get a better attitude towards school. No branch of the Armed Forces can afford to have a guy/girl around who can't absorb the training on increasingly sophisticated equipment. I've known and worked with former Spec Ops personnel, and I can tell you, none of them are dumb, and they ALL graduated from high school.Quite a few have Associates and Bachelors Degrees. I've not had the pleasure of meeting him personally.but Cmdr **** Marcinko USN Retd, holds a Masters Degree from Auburn University. He's typical of the Spec Ops trooper.both officer and enlisted who man today's SEAL Teams,Delta Teams, etc. Stay in school. Work out to get yourself in shape for boot camp, and then hopefully BUDs,if you qualify. Good luck in your studies.
