I'm 15, starting my sophmor year, and playing X.C., ice hocky, and track. What else can and should i do to prepare for BUD/S. i like to swim underwater, and practice it everytime i go to the pool or ocean. i can swim 25 plus meters, and working up to 50. should i concentrate more on this and extend my underwater range, or concentrate more on PT, and running? Also i like to do about 30 pushups before i go to bed, is this good or should i just do that stuff during my workouts? Thanks alot for any advice.

Do ocean swims in the morning (anywhere from .5 to 1.5 miles), work up to 30 - 40 mile weeks, do the PT section of the BUD/S Warning Order. And don't spend so much time on the message boards or watching TV...if you're keeping yourself busy with such training, you shouldn't have the time to be here so much.

I have noticed that there have been many posts/responses dealing with joining the wrestling team or cross-country, I think its all bull. What I mean is, it donest matter what sport you play, hell you can be the girls softball coach, it all comes down to your work-ethic. Yeah some sports might be more physically demanding but its not a necceity that you are apart of them. I know a guy that got through Hellweek and BUD/S and never played a competitive sport in their life. Like I said before it comes down to your work eithic. For a response to the post above. You are still young, dont be so concerned in trying to fit so much pt in that you ware yourself out. When I was in highschool, all I woried about was passing and the big game on friday night, not trying to complete the Warning Order. Some of you guys are still young, just enjoy your time in Highschool, have a good work ethic and have a postive attitude when things get tough.

One more recommendation, go to the bookstore or lookonline and get Stew Smiths' Completele Guide to Navy SEAL Fitness, it had two levels of programs in there, one to build your body and mind up for the second. He also had input in making the Warning order, but his book is more challengeing,

Thanks my two cents, you can take it for what its worth or ignore it.
