I was told by alot of people (who were not S.E.A.L.s) that during training, the recruits and drownd and then resessitated so they can feel death. (I read in the training section of this site that during some of the swims the recruits may pass out and are then ressesitated.) I was just wondering if this was true or just a misconseption.

Not true at all. I think the Navy would shut down BUD/S if we did that on a regular basis. There are guys who shallow water blackout, although they normally don't require anything more than a quick hit of oxygen for recovery. There have also been a few students who drowned in training, but it is most definitely not by design.

Safty is Paramount in all SEAL operations. Due to the dangerous nature of the job, accidents DO happen. But no student was EVER drowned by design.. This is an urban legend.

Thanks for the answer, that's what I thought but I wanted to be sure.
