how are SEALS given awards? seems there are public ceremonies where you hear about other navy personnel being presented purple hearts and navy stars, but no mention of SEALS.

Thanks for the info. I just have friend claiming to be a SEAL and found this site. For some time I have been reading the message boards but could not find any info on this. He claims that he's just given a new ribbon or medal - no ceremony - just handed it after whatever happened.

Taffy the ceremonies for the Teams, generally takes place at the command. In front, and with your team mates. The only ribbon I received away from command, was the Purple Heart, and that I got, while in the hospital.
P.S. Taffy, ask Wetwash or Wazz about your "SEAL" friend in a e-mail to them. They will assist you better in determining whether your friend is playing straight.
