Okay, okay, I know this subject has been beaten to death in these forums, but I still can't seem to get a straight answer. So let's try this again. What is the exact procedure for getting the corrective eye surgery waiver? Do you get it before you enlist, after, what? Anyone who actually knows (NOT JUST THINK YOU KNOW) the specifics or has had it done please respond. Thank you.

Go to the Search. Click the Search Post by Author. Search for Bullrider. He has an interesting point on laser eye surgery. He is an Active Duty Team Guy. Heed his advice. Then call the Frog in charge in Medical Waivers in D.C., you can get the number of the Official SEAL site.

I'll take the time to respond to this. You get to BUD/s you get the eye surgery. But the surgery guys have a bad rep. So...it's whatever get it before or when you are at BUD/s. They are trying to do away with the eye surgery before hellweek though from what I have heard through the grape vine. They are going to start doing it after hellweek. Because of the attrition rate.

I got mine done on my own. I had it done in July and have to wait to DEP until January or February for the 6 month healing process. I am very pleased with my results. I go in next month for my 3 month checkup. But I am more than certain my eyesight is atleast 20/20 right now. It is amazing.
