Sorry to post again so soon, but can anyone recommend some books that are about the training or life of actual SEAL's. Not Fiction novels.

Lone Survivor is a great book, it goes over SEAL training and talks about their missions in Afganistan. Plus the story (which is true) is great too.

Warrior Soul by Chuck Pfarrer is my favorite.
It's been a while since I've read it, but I think One Perfect Op by Dennis Chalker is good, too.

Hey guys
all of the above are great recommendations. I have to agree with Pope though Warrior Soul is a cracking read. Reading through it again at the moment.
Also all of **** Couch's books are very good with a lot of nice detail in them that is well worth knowing. I would also get the illustrated version of the Class 228 book. It covers much of the same material and great photos from indoc right through to phase 3.

Orr Kelly's book Brave men, Dark Waters is a pretty good depiction of the SEALs dating back to ww1 i believe, up till the panama invasion, and is a fun read as well. the story about tom norris was the deciding factor in my wanting to be a SEAL.

I just finished "The Warrior Elite" by former SEAL officer and Navy Capt. **** Couch. It covered class 228 from Indoc thru STT (what we call SQT now) and into the teams. I picked it up Friday from Barnes and Noble and read the entire thing straight thru in one sitting. If you enjoyed the 6 part Discovery Channel documentary on Class 234, you love this book. It goes into much better detail than the documentary.

I would also recommend Lone Survivor, it's a really good book. Very depressing but has alot of details of BUD/S and what it's like that these guys go through.

"The Finishing School" also by Capt. D!ck Couch (ret.) is also excellent. I finished it a few nights ago. It goes into good depth about what happens AFTER BUD/S.
