how long do i have to be in the navy before i can go to bud/s?becuase the only thing that interst me about the navy is being a SEAL.

why dont you take SEAL challange? you enlist in Navy and get to go to bud/s if you dont make bud/s you serve your enlistment in the Navy, look here http://www.sealchallenge.navy.mil/seal/bec_civilian.asp it lists requirements you will need before going to bud/s, hope it helps...?.... for the challange you do not have to be in the Navy already, it is what I am going to do much better then already being in the Navy if you are only in it to be a SEAL.

With the SEAL Challenge, you still ENLIST into the regular Navy before you can go to BUD/S. The SEAL Challenge ONLY gives you ample opportunities to pass the PST for BUD/S, and it guarantees you a slot in a BUD/S Class provided you meet all pre-requisites to go to BUD/S. It doesnothing more than that. It does not allow you to return to civilian world if you dont pass the PST to get to BUD/S, or allow you out if the Navy if you dont make it through BUD/S. The term NAVY SEALs should obviously imply something here....You are joining the UNITED STATES NAVY......The SEAL Teams are a small but vital part of the NAVY as a whole.....
You were accurate on the website www.sealchallenge.navy.mil however, your reply implies that you dont need to be in Navy to go to BUD/S with SEAL Challenge. SEAL Challenge is an Enlistment Guarentee you can get when you enlist. ALL SEALs are Navy servicemembers.
And to answer your question - there is no required time to serve in the regular Navy before trying to become a SEAL. Good luck and EVERYONE PLEASE READ THE FAQ's THOUROUGHLY IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY!!!!!! Thank you.....
