you guys know anything about RE-4's?
you guys know anything about RE-4's?
RE-4 is a re-enlistment code when one gets out of the Navy. It is a "recoomendation for re-affiliation" with the military. 1 being the best, 4 being the worst...very, very bad. If you have an RE-4 you will not be able to get back in....

Is there any way, however remote it may seem, to get back in with this re-enlistment code? Has anyone ever heard of know of anyone who has had this re-enlistment code and got back into the Navy? Does any SEALs or Navy afflilated people out there have any suggestions for someone trying to get back in with this code? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
It may (very strong maybe) be possible to get back into the military with an RE-4, BUT it would take A LOT of letter writing and A LOT of interviews with top brass (CO's, etc.). Most likely 99 times out of 100 the answer will be no. But of course there could be that one exception they would allow (would depend on why an RE-4 was received). As for Special Warfare, with an RE-4 you can forget about it - regardless of the reason. NSW requires top caliber people so an RE-4 would definately be a HUGE turn-off regardless of the reason.....you don't just get one for no reason......hope this answers your question....

Don't have to be a seal to answer that question. If you have an RE-4 chances are you are not the type of person who "wants" to be in the military anyway. Top notch people are available and walking into the recruiters office all the time no need to hassel with druggies and people who don't want to be there or who are not "cream of the crop".
RE- 4 prohibits you from Reserve affiliation as well I think that an RE-3 will too unless you are in an undermanned or understaffed rating with some special skills you can provide the Military. Give it up and get a job at Jiffy Lube wish you hadn't done what you done to get a less than desireable retention code.
