I would like to know where I would go after boot camp. My boot camp will be in Great Lakes,IL. Also I recently purchased, Stewart Smith's book. I have been traing for over 6 months now, and I still have one more year of high school. Do you think by then I will be ready for BUD/s. Also I would like to know if I enter BUD/s, will there be guys there that will be around 18yrs of age. Thankyou

Yes...Great Lakes is now the only remaining location for Navy boot camp. San Diego and Orlando were closed years ago. After Boot Camp, you will go to your selected A School for your "rating" training (for example, Gunners Mates go to GM A School, Corpsman go to HM A School, etc.). Upon successful completion of A School and provided you have met and satisfied all requirements you will then got to BUD/S to class up.

Physically - maybe. That depends on how hard you train. A book is only worth the paper it is printed on. You can find out the suggested workout program to prepare yourself for free on-line. But if you follow a good workout program and really push yourself, you will probably be ready - physically that is. Mentally, NO book can prepare you to sustain the mental rigors of BUD/S Training. You will either be able to do it or you won't. You will find out when you get there...

Yes, most of the enlisted guys will be 18-19 years of age. The most common age category is 18-23 years old. Good luck!

There is absolutely no way to prepare for this? (mentally i mean)
