I'm going to cl *** 242. I'm in good shape and ready to go, but I'm a bit worried about shin splints; the kind you get on the inside of your leg a few inches above the ankle. Whats the best way to prevent/treat this?

sincere thanks,
Elmo

Shin splints are a *****! Some get them and others don/t but the main thing that SEALs do to prevent them is to exercise the shin muscle by doing "toe-ups." Just lifting your body weight up on your toes, or while holding weights as well. Try jogging backwards at the beginning of your run for about 5 minutes, this also helps to strengthen the shin muscle. Look for more helpful tips on Navy SEALs Workout, content to be added soon.

Wouldnt you be doing most your running on the sand anyway, or is the risk still the same?
