I was just wondering, why are the flags on some military uniforms on backwards? I've noticed this multiple times, and just wanted to know why. Thank you.

Nevermind, a buddy of mine just found out. In case you were wondering too, it is because they don't bother producing two different flags for both arms, just one. So, you end up with one facing the wrong way.

your buddy is wrong. the army wears an american flag on thier right arm which apears to be backwards because.. in the military the color blue is the highest ranking color and must face the heart of the soldier. which is why if you notice... evey time you see the american flag patch on the sleeve of a uniform the union (the blue part) is always facing the heart (forwards)
so now you know

Oh, ok, thanks! I'll inform him.
Chum is not a SEAL....
Someone in the Army once told me "the flag is reversed on the right sleeve because the stars always go into battle first..." but what do those bulletcatchers really know LOL!
P.S. I've also noticed this trend on the right side and/or tailfin of certain aircraft (namely C131 and C-5's)
Anyway, I'm quite confident that the real reason is probably totally boring, hence all the creative explanations to spice it up
