This isn't a question for a SEAL, but their was a topic on here a while ago that brought a lot of response, and I wanted to clear up something about it. A kid came on here and said he had been through drug rehab and was clean and wanted to know if that would affect his chances for getting a security clearance. Well I was looking into the details on how a person is accepted or rejected for getting a security clearance, and came across that information. If a person has been addicted to drugs, it may be pardoned if the person went through rehab and was clean after that. Or if a person used any drugs but it was determined to be an isolated incident or series of incidents and the person has been clean (especially if it was before 16 or 7 years, whichever is shorter) since then, it will probably be pardoned. Any drug related crimes however may be grounds for a rejection.
