I met a guy over Memorial weekend that claimed to be a Marine Recon and "SEAL qualified". He insisted that he took tests and went through training that qualified him as a SEAL. I've never heard of this, but could this guy be telling the truth or is he just full of it?

I am not a SEAL, but it is my understanding (and it's on the SEAL's official website) that BUD/s training is open to any qualified applicant of ANY branch of U.S. service, and I believe the Coast Guard, also. So, yes, it is quite possible to be in any U.S. military service and become SEAL qualified.

There's no such thing as "SEAL-qualified". Guys are either SEALs or they are not. The only guys who go through (graduate) BUD/S are Navy, and when they graduate, they owe time on a SEAL Team.
