Dear To Whoever It May Concern -

I am not a "real" SEAL (whatever that is, in my opinion it's by heart) by government officials so I cannot answer questions. In fact I have so many of my own, so don't think I'm a whacko here saying to ask me any questions because I know everything because I don't. But as far as I am concerned, I am a SEAL at heart waiting for his paperwork to be processed and his chance to join BUD/S. No one can tell me no I cannot be a SEAL. I don't take failure as an option. I am going to JC once I finish High School, for a year, live a bit, I am in shape due to intense martial arts so I will be doing SEAL work outs as seen on this site and by C.J. Caracci or whatever his name is as he has on video. (No beef to C.J.. , I am just too tired to go look at the video.) Anyways, enough of that. Even though the few things I've said above, I can tell there will be times when I'll want to quit in BUD/S. I believe anyone who goes through it wants to at some point. But not just that, I mean at anytime. During a mission when the odds are against you. When your on the beach in BUD/S and the cold wants to take you. In Hell Week when your about to pass out and go to sleep, waking up only seconds later to be back in hell. When your life kicks you in the teeth and it seems all you've worked for wants to go. What's the SEAL mentality?

SEAL is all i've dreamed about. And though I hate having to ask this, what is SEAL pay in reality? The numbers I mean. Thanks buddies, and I hope to see you, my Green Brothers, soon.

Thank you, and if anyone can help me with the motivational answers, that'd be great.

Motivation? It is not issued in BUDS. You have to have it before you get there.

The level of motivation needed is akin to studying a school subject until you fall asleep, then wake up and hit it again until you have a conclusion. Or, hitting the books while the others are with the girls and pizza. Or, standing up to a bigger force even though you know defeat may be in the offing. i.e. Taking on a larger challenge than you, and having the determination to beat it. "They can kill me, but they cannot beat me".

The motivation you need is not found in books or discussions with the fellas. You have to instill it by doing, by conquering challenges bigger than you are.

hey wazz not trying to step on any toes here, but i think you are trying to say that the motavation must come from the heart. hey vendetta, first off im not a SEAL, but have high dreams of being one. my only advice is when you feel like quiting just think of all the dumbs#@@ts out there immitating the SEAL, that should give you a litlle motavation of anger. the type of motavation wazz was talking about is like going on run and feeling like u wanna quite while you are a mile or two from home but drive on anyway, takind any pain and disgust and using to drive u the last few miles! hope that helped
