Just wondering what the different things in the trident mean. I saw something on the site about it a long time ago but have been unable to find it again. thanks.

The components of the Naval Special Warfare insignia (affectionately called a Trident) reflect the elements in which we operate. The trident is Neptune's personal weapon, and reflects the maritime environment. The eagle represents the air, with its head bowed in homage to our fallen brothers. The flintlock pistol reflects land operations, and is always ****ed, as we are in a constant state of readiness for war. The anchor reminds everyone that we are Navy. It is the largest warfare/qualification badge in any of the branches. It sums up scuba, jump, demolition, helicopter assault, pathfinder, and a number of other skills for which other branches award separate insignia.

Thia is true. Look at the Eagle anywhere else - his head is perched high. It is bowed on the Trident as a symbol of humility. We must all be humble...the bowing eagle reminds us of this.....
