They are fiction, with two exceptions: some of "Rogue Warrior" is real, and most of "Rogue Warrior: Real Team". The rest is garbage.

how do you know the books are fake. he could write them to make people think that none of the things that he writes about are real. but they could be.

Faithful Marcinko reader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree there totally. *lol*

*LOL* If everything Marcinko wrote were true - he would have done more in one year than any other SEAL had done in his entire career. *LMAO*

I've also read some of Marcinko's books. I think he kicks ***. I believe that what he writes is true. He just titles them as fiction. When you write as fiction, you can't be busted for leaking any sensitive material. What Marcinko writes about are his experiences on different operations and compiles them into one story. Now, I don't believe that his books are true from start to finish, but I do believer that the missions he writes about are true. The funny thing, he even uses real names. I've also watched some of Marcinko's interviews. From what I tell, he didn't have a desk job. So he got the material from somewhere.

With your occupatlion you should more than the average person be able to take the written word and interpret vast fact from fiction. It is from those who want to belieive there is a Force of Zeus out there, and the media has pointed attention to the SEALs, that the number of books written by apparently great authors like Marcinko receive accolades and belieive from the reading public.

I do not read Marcinko as I lived that life and allow me to gesture you back to ground level. Marcinko is an excellent writer. But he does not always write in true life. Take most of his books as good entertainment.

I agree that his books are fiction. My stand is only that he draws upon past experience of real life or training situations with 2, 6 or Red Cell and creates a fictional senario. That's all. He weaves fact and fiction into a novel. By the way, I should add that I am not, in any way, a SEAL.

you'll never know, anyway...why not drop it and just leave it to speculation?
