Chosen for BUD's training

Ok i got a simple question here

When you go to take the pft test to qualify for bud's, and you pass it, does that mean your going into the next class if your a US citizen, made the required ASVAB score etc...?

I heard that your chosen out of 1500 or so applicants...is this true?
If so, does anyone know what they look for?

I'm not a SEAL, but I have asked this question and gotten a reply from a SEAL.

You will need a SEAL challenge contract if you want a definite spot in bud/s, assuming you have the asvab scores and pass the physical screen test.
