What percentage of SF missions involve teaching foreign military forces? I ask because I'm interested in SF, but this is something I would NOT care for doing; and while I could certainly handle doing it sometimes, I would not be happy if it made up like 70 or 80% of my duties! Thanks.
Jason
A large % of SF missions are UW missions - which involve working with and training indigenous persons. That is the main mission of the SF community. The SEALs do this as well quite a bit - but not as much as the SFers. Jason

Don't the SEALs train a lot more for unilateral special operations?

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT...ifyou don't want to teach...find another line of work. Part of liberating the opressed is teaching them to fend for themselves, lest we become the opressors...via dependance

find another line of work.
It would seem that the vote is unanimous.
I am gonna go on a limb here and direct you to another profession also. To my knowladge training indigenous persons was part of the theory behind the creation of S.F, and the aspect that most US S.F take the most pride in

So just what would make you happy ?

From the horse's mouth - "that's what it would be. You don't go down and set up shop as a teacher. You work with them and they work with you. Don't know it until you've tried it."
Little furthe rconversation was too many of these questions are trying to find out what the SF life is by vicarious means. If you want it, do it. It's all good. That's an opinion I agree with from a wife's perspective.
