OPFOR is just what it says, Opposing Forces. They serve as the enemy in training be it another platoon from your company, another company from your battalion, or one of the dedicated OPFOR units at the 3 training centers.

sometimes, I think some of the OPFOR at CMTC in Germany might, but for the most part no. Not expedient OPFOR anyways. Now dedicated OPFOR units like those at NTC, JRTC, and CMTC ( the Army's 3 training centers ) wear non standard uniforms but black's a bad choice for camo-not to mention it's hotter than hell.

I know this is an old post but I would like to get the correct info out. I was stationed at CMTC for 5 years.

Almost always the 1-4 Infantry wear black, there are a few variations that they wear depending on the mission. Yes black is hot during the summer but as for not being camo it is not as bad as you think. Almost all BLUFORE units are mech and move too fast to notice a couple of dismounts in black and if the BLUFORE is dismouted, OPFOR dismounts move in very small groups 4 men max.

At JRTC they wear olive drab and at NTC they wear desert.
