I am doin a project for school about a career and i have picked a Navy SEAL. I am interested in joining once i get out of highschool or college. I just have a few questions to ask the active and retired SEALs out there.
1. What level of education is required for your job?
2. What kinda of experiences/training would you recommend in your career?
3. What personal qualitites are needed in this job?
4. What is the typical starting/ mid range/ and top range salary in the career?
5. What are typical duties and responsibilities in the career?
6. Explain a typical day. The stressa and the enjoyment in the career.
7. What are important factors to know in this career related to location and job activity?
8. Do you spend most of your time interacting with people, ideas, things, and/or data?
9. What are the opportunities related to this career?
10. What other information would you feel is important to know if getting into this career?

Any answers to these questions would help out very much and i would be extremely thankful.
Thanks

That "other guy" could not answer your other questions because he can't. He QUIT in BUD/S Training. He is not, nor was he ever a SEAL. Here is my answers for you:

1.) High school degree or GED (enlisted). Officers require at least a bachelor's and some type of military training (Military Academy, ROTC, OCS, etc.).

2.) You get the opportunity to attend all sorts of different schools as a SEAL. Your experiences and training will be endless, fun and invaluable...

3.) You need ABOVE ALL ELSE to have: Teamwork, non-quitting attitude, motivation, determination and the strongest deepest desire to succeed regardless of anything else. You must be successful and NEVER quit!

4.) Salary varies greatly by your rank or rate and time in service. There are also many special pays awarded to you IF you make it into the Teams.

5.) Duties in the Teams will vary according to your rating and assigned jobs. What is expected of everyone is to demonstrate your best abilities. NEVER quit! You are expected to succeed. Get it done...

6.) Typical day in the Teams. Does not exist. Everyday is filled with new challenges and all...

7.) Not sure what you mean by this one. Teams are based out of Little Creek, VA; Coronado, CA and one Team in Ford Island, HI (Pearl Harbor)...

8.) All of the noted.....

9.) Endless opportunities. Many related to law enforcement and other fields. Endless opportunities can be realized once you return to civilian life...

10.) RESEARCH all you can on the Teams. Search this and other websites related and find out all you can to make an informed decision and know exactly what you want before you do it. Do your best, never quit and go for what you want. It can be achieved if you want it bad enough....

I hope this helped somewhat. Good luck......
