I see in mail-order catalogs and in your better department stores a "Navy SEAL" watch by Lumi Nox. Is there a specific watch issued to Navy SEALs? If so, can a civilian obtain one as well?

Issued watch is a G-Shock Illuminator, model number DW-6600, which you should be able to order at any watch store.

The Luminox is crap.

Agreed. The Luminox is garbage. To be more specific, the watch floods after a couple of weeks of diving, then the hands start to fall off one-by-one. It's great if you want a bunch of neat-looking tritium junk rattling around on your wrist. I'd save your money and stick with the G-shock. The Illuminator is far from perfect, but it's a great watch all around. Just wish they'd put the dual time zone back on it, to set to Greenwich Mean (Zulu) Time, like on the original G-shock. Oh, well..........

I like the Timex Ironman Triathloon. dual time zone, timer, phone numbers can be used for Lat & Lon and I have used mine on regular dives to 60 Ft. It has held up two years and at $35 it is almost disposable.
Down side is if you don't have a laptop or PC handy to set the thing it is almost worthless.

Thank you for the information! I purchased the G-shock Illuminator - $62.
Better than spending $200 on some watch that is falsifying what the Navy SEALs are wearing.
Thanks Again!

Darn it! I was going to get one of those watches for my graduation present next year! Now, I gotta tell Dad how an expensive look-alike will fall apart after a while...I'm gonna get the G-shock Illuminator..
