Hi Guys,
This is more general question, but thought the SEAL's would know answer to this one.
Can any helicopters be refuelled inflight? Obviously not from above:-), but just wondering if any have ability to drop down a hose(or whatever it is called) and connect to refuelling plane. I would think this would be hard as plane maybe travelling faster than helicopter, even though helicopters can travel very fast, also whether plane could refuel at low enough level and still be safe.
Again, if you can answer, that would be appreciated. Just curious on this point, and just have not come across this before.
Many thanks.
cheers

I am not a SEAL and I am only 14 years old but I just thought Id answer your question with a question. So this is it.Have you ever seen a pavelow or any other helicopter with a funny looking tupe on the right side next to the wheel. If you have that is a refueling rod. This question shouldnt be posted at this forum though.

Hi SanD,
Thanks for the info, and please understand this is with all due respect to yourself, I am 34 and understand this is Ask a SEAL, and that is why I posted this here, because if any branch would possibly need to refuel I would have thought it would have been the SEAL's, maybe in a long distance insertion, etc where they wanted to stay low. Could be wrong but that was my reasoning.
Again, SD, I know you mean well, so I am not having a go, but the people who make the rules and will let me know if I have erred or posted incorrectly will be either cyberseal or the moderators, Doug, WW, etc.
Again, SD, thank you for the info, I do appreciate it, I really do, but again, read the forum title, ask a SEAL, being 14 you might be a little young to be one, but if you are aiming to be one, best of luck(sincerely, no sarcasm) as it is a tough road from what I read.
Have a good day SD

Grubber,
Some of the MH-60s, and the MH-53's in our inventory are aerial refuel-capable. Here is a good website to check out: http://www.specwarnet.net/vehicles/pavelow.htm
