I just wanted to say that I have tremendous respect for the job the SEALS do. I am 20 years old and I live in Toronto Canada. Is it uncommon for individuals from other countries to apply to BUDS? and I was wondering if any former or current seals have served with Canadian Special Forces such as the Joint Task Force 2? what are your experiences with these soldiers? are they trained like Seals or are they comparable to different Special Forces units?

During the Viet Nam war Canada was a haven for America's slithering Draft Dodgers. They were welcomed with open arms. And today, in Iraq, America finds no Canadians. I am not quite sure I could put the slant on your query that you are looking for.

let's not get started on Canada.....
Each country maintains its own version of a Special Forces. JTF 2 is the Canadian version. If you are a Canadian citizen, you can apply to enlist in the Land environment (check to see which outfits are most often recuited by JTF 2 before you sign on the dotted line), work hard and aim to make yourself a prime candidate for selection.

Not all special forces are created equal. Most countrys' special forces are crap. BTW Canada has one of the most pathetic militaries in the entire world with a total of 90 thousand members. Civilized countries have a duty to maintain armies to aid the rest of the civilized world in dealing with psyhoctic regimes like Iraq.

Yo Chief, heres a history question....in 64-65 were there any men of Canadian birth who fought with or served with the outfit as part of the regular Navy in S. E. Asia? Ever hear of any Canadians that headed south and served as Divers with the Navy in the 60's?
