Hi, I am 16 years old and in my junior year of high school. I am really interested in becoming a Navy SEAL, and have been for several years now. I am not the most fit person in my school, but I can withstand pain if I set my mind to it. I am just wondering if you could tell me what would be a good shape to be in before I enter the Navy and eventually BUD/S.

Hi. I'm a 7th grader. i hope i can help you. I'm in the process a social studies fair project on th seals( i'm going to state). and have read many books about them. ( also want to be a seal) Well if you are in shape it will help you alot. ummm......... you should start running and get good at it. you will have to run great distances and if you are used to doing it it will be easier. Practice swimming and swimming a long time nonstop. This is for 2 mile swims. practice holding your breath under water. you should practice doing pullups, pushups, situps, and etc. you will have to do alot of calistenics. it will help if you do al of this because you get on the good side of the instructors. Stop eats alot of candy, cokes, french fries, pizza. start drinking MILK ,meat, alot of protiens. If you can do some weightlifting(this will helf you with excersises). Your right its mind over matter. if you really want to be a seal you'll do this because it will help you alot. Good luck!!!!

Under Navy SEALs, the official SEAL workout is posted. Use it. Don't have to be a SEAL to tell you about it.

Pathus, I know about the workout programs, and as a matter of fact I am using them at the current moment. I think that you just misunderstood the question. I wanted to know what kind of shape is needed, not what to do, in order to get through BUD/S. Thank you for your response anyway.
