People, what is with these questions? "If you swim out 3 miles can you still see the beach?" Who cares? Go to BUD/S and experience yourself. I agree to the phrase "The only stupid question is the one not asked" but come on people.

I guess it would depend which way you are looking ! The distance to see is at approximately 12 miles. All of you who asked ,swim out that far and see if I am right.

I once knew a blonde who was trying to swim 6 miles across a lake to the opposite shore. But when she got 3 miles out she realized she could not make it and swam back to the starting line.

right on!! i hate people who ask stupid questions. i have a question you seem like you would know: do you have to be a good swimmer to be a navy SEAL? just wondering...
