What exactly happend to Red Cell? I remeber reading a article on Red Cell and Richard Marcinko that he and his team mates had at one time been inprisoned for a one year mass.. If I am correct it had something to do with Red Cell raiding the naval base's most secure facilities.. Could someone please tell me exactly why they went to jail, I'd greatly appreciate it.

CAPT MARCINKO (ACTUALLY RETIRED AS A CDR) WENT TO JAIL AS A RESULT OF IMPROPER HANDLING OF SPECIAL ACQUISITIONS HE MADE FOR SEAL TEAM 6. I AM NOT PRIVVY TO THE DETAILS - BUT THEY BUSTED HIM FOR MISALLOCATION OF GOV'T RESOURCES I THINK. OF COURSE, THERE WERE STRONG POLITICAL REASONS BEHIND THAT - SOME OF IT TO DO WITH RED CELL AND SOME WITH THE FACT THAT HE PISSED OFF THE WRONG GUY FINALLY.

Let me start by saying i'm not a SEAL. I just know from what I hear and read. Mark is right, he was busted for misallocation of gov't resources, as he so eloquently put it. If I remember correctly, he had a connection with someone who was able to get him a good deal on grenades or c4, i don't remember which,grenades i think. Anyway, he bought them for 25k, put 50k down on paper, and made 25k profit, which he claimed to use to benefit his men. The NIS spent millions of dollars investigating him, so they needed to find something, or else it would be someone's ***. I think another SEAL was charged with having a false visa to somewhere , and some personal equipment that actually belonged to the Navy. It was all bull **** . Political bull **** .Marcinko stepped on too many toes, and it finally caught up with him.
