Ok, heres the skinny (or not so skinny)
Out of boot, I was 155lbs, after my first cruise I was 175.
Now after being a civilian since 1994, I was told by the reserves, that for my height (5'11") I should be around 195, I was at 215 when they told me that.
Well, I have been jogging and working out, and am now at 220 !!!
What is the average weight for a BUD/S trainee ??

Focus mostly on running and your weight will go down. Swimming will do it too. I would say that the average weight in BUD/S is probably 180, 175. And if you go to BUD/S weighing too much don't worry, that gets taken care of real quick. Some of the bigger guys have been known to lose 50 pounds in just a few days, especially in Hell Week.

What if your really skinny? I'm still in high school (11th grade) and weight only 128 and I'm 6"0.

Yeah 128 6ft is real skinny. There's all different body types that make it through BUD/s but I can't ever recall someone that skinny being there. You would definitely have a huge problem for log and boat evolutions. Try doing weights and pushups ect while at the same time making sure you maintain a good endurance base since BUDs is all about endurance.

Okay, I weigh about 145lbs on average, and I'm 5'11", and I'm a junior in highschool, is this about average for a highschool student, I mean do alot of people gain some weight after highschool, not fat, but just get bigger?

Ok Kev, I'm pretty good at the endurance, but I was worried about my size beeing a major problem when it came to things like that.

You would definitely have a huge problem for log and boat evolutions.

I'll keep that in mind...

Well Tag endurance is much much more important in BUD/s then strength so you might be ok but you do have to carry heavy stuff sometimes. You'll definitely put on muscle either way. I would personally rather go in there with an endurance base and no strength base then with a strength base and no endurance base so at least you just have to work on the less important of the two.

Fear not, young one. If you are as skinny as you say you are and as tall, then you've got plenty of growing ahead of you. Once your body is done growing vertically, you'll pack on the pounds. Trust me.

I was 5'10" 150lbs my junior year and 6'1" 225 two years out of high school. You're not going to be extremely skinny forever, my friend. Patience.

GMG-

kevin is NOT and NEVER was a Navy SEAL. His advice, comments, and information are NOT endorsed, encouraged, NOR are they accepted by this community.

You should pay CLOSE attention to the advice of folks like Wetwash, Wazz, DirkD, Doug, et al. THEY are the real deal. They've seen the entire program and will be able to offer you the most appropriate advice, information, or guidance. If they cannot, I'm certain they'll be able to refer you to someone who can... It's a TEAM thing...

Best wishes... RUN after it, Son!!!!

Nothing like people who are a dumbass like you kev. You need to show a little respect for those who are actually serveing and get out of your made up little world and realize you are not a Navy SEAL.
