I was wondering if some of the SEALs on this site would share with us what they considered their specialty while in the Teams. What came easier to you then it did to another operator and by having that gravitation towards that ability did they always allow you to perform that task and eventually train others in that ability what ever it was? One other question how many of you guys were above average marksman before going into trainning? Also, what weapon were you better w/ a handgun or rifle and which typr did you like to use?

I just wanted to ask if my questions are offensive to the SEALs on this site or do they violate something regarding operational security. I have posted several questions that have went unanswered. If these questions are out of line I apologize to you gentlemen w/ sincerity. I know that all of the SEALs here are very busy, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't asking something out of line.

Are there any seals that are/ have done work in intellagents? If so what are the ups and downs of the job?

Most SEALs are about operating on intel that has been gotten by someone else and the intel that thay get is usually put together by regular Navy guys who are not SEALs but who work closely with them. SEALs do gather intel through their sneek and peek and recon ops but I don't think its the type of intel you're thinking of. I think the type of intel you're thinking of is done by EX-SEALs working for the CIA and such but even then they are not usually the ones getting the intel, even the CIA guys are usual just "handlers" which are people that handle the people who are getting the intel (who may be on the paylist but who do not work for the us gov).........Now what are the ups and downs of doing intel in the "regular" Navy where most of it is done by Intel Specialists and Intel Officers. Well an up is you're privy to sensitive info which can make the job a little more exciting but thats also the downfall. I have heard thats its extremely easy to mess up your careeer in the intel world in the Navy since you deal with so much TS info. You accidently leave the wrong piece of info laying about and you're screwed.

WW,
thanks for the response. Is mountaineering required learning for SEAL/s or is that a speciality you wanted to do and already like? Climbing seems like fun not to much to climb down this far south in Texas.

I posted a topic about grip, check it out and see if you can give me some insight. I know from all the climbing you gotta have grip. How else you gonna keep the wieght from them brass balls from pulling ya down! LOL

thanks WW,

I respond only because there is some danger is putting faith in the comments below:

"I think the type of intel you're thinking of is done by EX-SEALs working for the CIA and such but even then they are not usually the ones getting the intel, even the CIA guys are usual just "handlers" which are people that handle the people who are getting the intel (who may be on the paylist but who do not work for the us gov)........."

The guy that wrote the above is not a SEAL. Never has been in the CIA. Knows nothing about Intelligence gathering or disbursal. He is yesterday's failure and today's false braggart. He knows nothing and leads genuine queries to false conclusions.

In truth all Intelligence Agencies and Services gather Intelligence through their own methods. After gleaning it is centralized to the DIA, CIA, NSA, etc. Here it is disbursed to all units who need such Intelligence. Often a geographical location will not have any intelligence attached to it due to lack of inside agents, outdated maps, or little media revelations. And just how these Services and Agencies choose to gather their clandestine intel data is not let to those just fresh in the Military Service.

Wazz,

I thank you for the response. I know who the real deals are on this site and hold all of you responses and each one of you in very high regard. You gentleman on this site who are UDT/SEALs are the true warriors and patriots of this country. The time y'all spend here answering questions from us wannabees is greatly appreciated and I know I speak for all of us. You guys let us see into the trainning and give us guidance and you ask nothing in return, except a sincere thank you and the respect that all servicemen current and past deserve. This guy Kevin is lower than whale **** . He has treaded on the SEAL community and it's members who make up it's community. This guy could not hack it for what ever reason, he rang out and took the warmth and dry clolthes over his classmates and the Teams. He tried and failed as many have in the past, but now he comes back to make it look easy to get through trainning. Maybe, he does this to make more people fail? To fail and to be in his ranks of those cold and timid souls. I as you know Wazz, I'm not a SEAL but I'm going to BUD/S and I will graduate becuase I will not quit. Some, of the comments these clown makes are disrespectful. How can you be disrecpectful to people who have risk life and limb to keep you free.
