hello, i just started running to get ready for seals. im doin the seal workout thingy. im 17 but pretty lazy and out of shape. i ran a mile in like 8:30- 9 mins. but this was flat ground, down ans up hill. If i keep on with the workout will my times improve ? it says I should be going at a 8:30 min pace. but im not there yet. if i keep going will i eventually get there ? Please help. also, when i run .... should i be running on flat ground or up, down hill and flat ground?
Thank You, Josh

Keep your runs up. You will improve as your muscle and caridovascular system adjusts to the greater demands. A lot of your initial BUDS runs will be on sand, mostly flat. But your uphill and downhill will not hurt. But stay at it. Push yourself to a medium stress level. An excess stress level may risk injury. But keep at the runs.
