There is no special tricks or techniques used to deal with sleep deprivation. It is just one of those things that you must "gut out" if you want to be a frogman. SEALs must be able to successfully prevail through all and be able to overcome any and all obstacles. If your our on an op and you are cold wet and tired as all hell, you MUST be able to push through it all and BUD/S deprives you of sleep and makes you cold wet and miserable to make sure you can hack it because once you get to the Teams, you will realize - you will always be cold wet and tired - not only at BUD/S. BUD/S just makes sure that you probably have what it takes to be a successful SEAL. Hope this answers your question.......

I wondered about this myself. you see on the tv that the buds recruits are always cold and wet. where does sleep deprivation compare to cold and wet? do some find one more difficult to endure than the other? thanx in advance for the info...

All of the negative things that happen to a human in combination in BUD/S, and in the time after in the Teams...Just gut it out.. you will be watched to see how you personally handle it.

Its kinda of hard to fall a sleep when you're running with a log on your head ;-) If you're awake you are most likely going to be doing something

kevin is NOT and NEVER was a Navy SEAL. His advice, comments, suggestions, and guidance are NOT endorsed, encouraged, NOR are they accepted or recognized by this community.
Pay CLOSE attention, however, to the REAL SEALs who come here JUST for this purpose... to answer your questions. THEY are the real deal and have been through the entire program. THEY will be able to offer you the most effective and most accurate advice, suggestions, and recommended courses of action
Best wishes...
