What has been the oldest person to complete Navy Seal BUDS training, and the entire training after BUDS? And, has there been any females to have ever completed the course?
Last, do Navy seal offer any type of training for the L.E. sector, for example a crash course Seal school?
Thank you for any responses to my questions.
All the best -
Ed
OLDEST I KNOW OF WAS 41. NO FEMALES HAVE EVER BEEN ADMITTED, SO NONE HAVE COMPLETED BUD/S.
YES - SWAT TEAMS TRAIN ALL THE TIME WITH THE TEAMS AND OFTEN USE OUR FACILITIES.

Hey Mark,
How long ago was that? I am just curious since I have been told the age waiver extends to 30-32 these days depending on the candidate, and is the toughest waiver to get.

Wasn't that one BUD's graduate on the Discovery Channel BUDs special, the one the others kept calling Rose or Rosie but the instructors were not pleased with that name so they nicknamed him Mowgli, 17 years old or something? I thought he said something to the BUD instructors at their graduation ceremony that he just turned 18 on that day.

I know at the time Scott Helvenston was listed as the youngest, but watching BUD/S 234
The guy named Rosborough was 17 when he started. So the claim as the youngest my come down
to a matter of months or days.
THE 40 YEAR OLD WENT THROUGH IN 91. I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY OVER 30 GUYS HAVE GONE THROUGH SINCE THEN - THOUGH I AM SURE IT HAS BEEN A FEW.

Thanks Mark- interesting to know the 40 yr old was so recent.
And your comment about their being quite a few over 30 in recent years jives with what I have read. Reading "Warrior Elite" and "Commandos" I get the sense quite a few people get the age waivers- just that most of them get them having had extensive military experience.
I have also noted with great interest how many people at BUDs in Class 228 (again from the book "Warrior Elite") were people coming back to try again and rollbacks. Given how difficult it is to get a spot at BUDs, I admit being somewhat surprised at the number of people who come back to try again. I had figured that with demand, the rules allowing people to try again would be very rarely extended.
Do you have any idea how the age waiver process works for those who have no military experience? As a practical matter, at what point- if any- does it just become flat out impossible?
