Just curious to know the opinions of seals on combat controllers and their functions with the teams. I am entering the pipeline next month and just curious to know what you think of the air force socom, in particular, combat controllers and their capabilities.
USAF SPECIAL OPS GUYS - COMBAT CONTROLLERS AND PARA-RESCUE - ARE FINE OPERATORS. THEIR TRAINING IS OUTSTANDING AND THE CHARACTER OF THE TROOPS WE HAVE WORKED WITH IS SUPERB. THE ROLES ARE NON-COMBATIVE - THAT IS THE MAIN DIFFERENCE. THOUGH THEY RUN AND GUN IN TRAINING - THE BULK OF THE TRAINING IS MEDICAL FOR THE PJ'S AND AIR CONTROL FOR THE CCT GUYS. CONTRASTED WITH THE SEALS AND SF WHO DO THE BULK OF THEIR TRAINING LEARNING HOW TO ROOT, TOOT AND PARACHUTE, BLOW THINGS UP AND GET THE BAD GUYS (OR TRAIN THE GOOD GUYS) - THERE IS A REAL DIFFERENCE IN THE CAREERS.

A good controller is worth his weight in gold. As in anything, some are better than others, but as a whole, they are the heat for what they do. Lots of luck in the pipe-line, we need good controllers, be one.l
