Ok, in first phase when swimming without fins are you wearing shoes?
I DON'T THINK IT WOULD BE VERY FUN TO SWIM IN BOOTS. IN FACT YOU WOULD PROBABLY BE WALKING ON THE BOTTOM IF YOU WORE BOOTS - EVEN SEAL INSTRUCTORS ARE NOT THAT CRUEL (WELL MAYBE...)

I don't believe you would wear boots or shoes...If anything You'd probably wear like swim shoes (light rubbery shoes) that way your feet don't get cold and you can walk on land.. However I am not entirely certain..

Hmm, I guess the SWCC instructors are complete demons compared to the BUD/S instructors. I can't confirm or deny that swimming in boots is done as part of the training, unless one is accidentally pushed overboard with the rest of the crew. But I can confirm that it is possible to put those Magnums and Danners through the wash cycle on a heavy duty clothes washer to get the sea salt, kelp and accumulated sand out of them. All that's needed after the drying is complete is some leather condition for the leather parts and some black gloss.
