Do you guys use simunitions in some of your training exercizes?? I saw a program called 'Direct Action' ( believe that was the name anyway...) on the Discovery channel some time ago, and I saw that most of the scenarios were force on force... I was just curious what was being fired from the weapons, especially the sniper. That's been bugging me ever since I saw it.
Thanks

Hello,
I can tell you that in the Ranger Battalions we used MILES gear for MOUNT training and simunitions for CQB training. When simunitions were used the only difference was the upper reciever of your Colt M-4 was changed to use the simunition round. At close range simuntions can sting real good. And we used face mask like what is worn in paintball games to protect our face and neck. I personaly think MILES gear is a really poor training aid. Simunitions is way more realistic way to train.
