Yes, I know that SEALS are a Navy unit and its hard to compare their roles to the rangers. What Im asking is this: I know that the SEALs have some of the best training in the world, but i cant find alot on ranger training. How does it match up?

Why don't you ask about Ranger training in the "Ask an Army Ranger" Forum.

Hey Orion,
As you said yourself..... Army and Navy have their differences. The big difference is that the SEALs do LOTS of their training in water, where the rangers do LOTS of their training on land. If you watch the discovery channel, sometimes a show comes on on the weekends I think..... anyways it is all about Ranger training..... where the Rangers battle each other at different competitions like pushups, running, CQB, Long Range Shooting, all kinds of stuff...... check it out!

I'd only feel qualified to comment if I'd completed both courses. Unfortunately, I don't see myself going through Ranger at 37! Maybe some lurkers have experienced both, and can give you a more accurate picture. Our guys that have done both don't normally make a comparison. They have respect for both courses, and say you can't compare the two.

Believe that show is the annual Best Ranger Competition. Tough competition.
