I'm wondering what "A" school should I pick for after boot camp because my recruiter isn't helping too much. I'm currently a finance major at SRU and I need 39 more credits to graduate but I want to get to BUD/S now. I don't think I can wait another year. I have been training forever and right now I'm in the best shape that I have ever been in. I thought information specialist would be good for me, anyone have advice?

1 year left in school, you should finish and have the option of OCS. (Officer Candidate School). If that isnt an option, when at the teams you will have to take fleet advancement exams. So you want a rate that isn't to fleet technical. (I was a Radioman, which was changed to IT(?). Advancement was very difficult due to the tests being on fleet communications, which a team guy never uses. So pick something you will be able to retain and somewhat easily brush up on, because your competition for advancement will be steep.

I agree with J as well. Finish the school. Then you have a back-up too and OCS options. I'd suggest maybe looking into IS or HM...maybe even SK (*lol* - but hey it kinda works hand in hand with your financing degree *lol*). Hope it helps....later...

Thanks for the advice, everyone keeps telling me to finish school but I'm just getting bored. I have been waiting to get to BUD/S training since I was about 10. Thanks again, later

Go to school now, or do it while your in the service. Because you are going to be learning alot more than you realize going into the service and attending alot of schools. Stay in school, get your degree and then attend OCS if you really intend on joining the military.
